...and a very nice sax wank it is

I'm lovin' the chords & harmonies... would've liked to hear a bit of a swing, maybe even leaving the straight drumbeat in as contrast... might make it even more jazzy... but hey, it's fine as it is. good stuf'

hmm...

Yeah, I could picture someone rapping over this... I'd go with ped and say you should add more to it, but in this case the beat might end up getting things a little cluttered. maybe just a high synth? or even a siren? and then, you know, get a friend to spit some sick lyrics over it... then you're golden.

not bad

As has been said, the bass is way too high in the mix... Other than that, it's really not a bad track. Good melodies, mostly good harmonies... kinda repetitive, but it's catchy enough, so it's alright. The ending could use some work though; I wouldn't end such a peaceful song with all that dissonance...

niiice.

Alright, I turned off Boredoms for this, so it had better be good... Starting off simple enough... peaceful synths, pleasant harmonies... ah, here's the beat, just in time. hmm... still pleasant, still simple... beats are getting gradually more crazy... I like that warbly synth that just came in... Jeez, the beats are saying "bash me over the head with a sledgehammer" but the melodies/harmonies are saying "...but do it in a flowery meadow"

On the whole, it's a great track, but I don't feel like the awesome drums and the awesome synths come together quite as awesomely as they should... But I there's so much to love that it really almost doesn't matter. 5/5.

SineRider responds:

Thanks matey

nice.

I like it! very groovy... good production, good beats, good synths, good variety... good stuff. Too short though.

BritZombie responds:

Cheers.

Yeah it might be a bit short

Ha! congrats

So I'm playing this lovely little game from the front page, and I'm thinking, "wait a minute... this music has a familiar sound to it..." low and behold, 'tis SineRider! I uttered an audible chuckle and continued exploding smileys for a few more minutes, then proceeded to your audio page in order to write a review describing my experience. And now I'm done.

SineRider responds:

TEEHEE THANKS I LIKE THE GAME TOO

Your half arsed shit kicks the hell out of my whole arsed shit... (ha haa! shit kicking...) Anyway, everything seems to go together so nicely... I'm trying to decide how to describe some of these synths, as they're so wonderfully obscure that I can't really relate them to anything... My favorite part is when the guitar comes in and plays off the bass, while the clicky synths play off of the kick... but the buildup to that point is excellent too. The vocals are cool too, but the half-step-up-bass line seems to put an unnecessary jolt into an otherwise smooth song... or maybe it's just something about the bass at that point that sounds kinda weird... I dunno. Still an excellent track.

yeh, the end is well slap-dash, couldn't be bumholed to finish it

"...in a drunken punch-up at a wedding, yeah"

I like this a lot... it has an almost Radiohead-ish vibe to it, more specifically "A Punch Up at a Wedding" ...especially with the piano, which is really well-written. And I'm a huge Radiohead fan, so that's definitely a compliment. The simple guitar here and there adds a lot to it, and the drums & bass keep the song flowing quite smoothly... until the end, where it just kinda stops. I'd love to hear this song developed a little more. Great track.

curriemaster responds:

Thanks very much man, Im reasonably pleased with it myself though you may have noticed that I tend to have a problem finishing songs...I make them in a couple of hours then submit them with *unfinished* or some such and pretend that Im going to come back to them. But I never do.

Im mighty grateful for the Radiohead comparison, though Punch Up is a fantastic song, definitely not even close to my league. If you want to collab on something like this sometime give me a shout, I may even finish a song then! :O

Cheers for the review mate.

nice

The beat was good; very bouncy. The melody was weird, but not necessarily bad... just different, in an unconventional sort of way. good stuf'

Dr-Slump responds:

thanks =D i worked hard on this one... from now on, good stuff only, promise ;P

peaceful, no?

I think the drums could've been brought down a little in the mix... they do kinda protrude into the whole air-of-tranquility, which was otherwise very relaxing. Also, it ends kinda abruptly. Other than that, very good, very good.

Oh Yoshimi, they don't believe me, but you won't let those robots eat me...
