k...

well... I don't really think this falls under trance... and it doesn't sound like much of a "beat"... but as far as ambient electronica goes, it's a'ight. nice chords. but short. really short.

UnknownFear responds:

Thanks. I am going to make more but longer ones.

hmm...

It sounds at once amatuerish and professional... leading me to believe that your loops may have been pre-made... but I won't jump to conclusions. It's a relatively decent track, but for the recording levels, which are way too high, causing distortion, which adds to that amatuer-ish air I was talking about... anyway, it's different, and different is good.

UnknownFear responds:

Thank you for reviewing my audio submission. No, these loops were not pre-made. The beats, however, came with FruityLopps. I just messed around with the beats and the outcome was not all that bad.

Thanks for calling it a "decent" track.

...I can't feel my ears...

This song takes the adjective "trippy" to a whole new level. Awesome work.

LJCoffee responds:

thank you. I'm glad that it's gotten a few listens. The problem with putting this track on NG is that I feel too many people will say "screwititsucks" and move on before they even get a few bars into it.

That isn't really a problem but you know how the typical NG crowd is... If they're not hit right in the face by an immediate froth of 4x4 Techno then they lose interest and never bother to hear any of the work that comes only 4 bars later.

Hitting up front like that is fine, don't get me wrong, it lets people know what the song is all about right away - but I like the idea of *almost* losing them and then trying to hook them right at the last second. If only I could get that down correctly...

I appreciate the review and the vote!

See you around.

not bad

good, in fact.

Tech-Advance responds:

thanks.

nice.

very nice indeed. I wish I could play like this...

margarine responds:

I've been playing 8 years, so it figures I should be able to muster up something like this by now
Thanks for the review! Weekly favourite, wow, I feel so honoured :D :D

nice

well, this one maintains approximately the same level of goodness all the way through... so I guess that's another way to make a song... *shrugs*
dl & 5

PERVOK responds:

lol, thanks man for the review.

good stuff

I think it may want more snare, but overall, this is a great first effort; you could've fooled me.

Talin-Ronyo responds:

That could be a good idea... I actually didn't use any snare in this one, just a lot of hi-hat instead. I'll try that later. Thanks for the review & good rating! :D

that's too funny...

I posted "Dark Matter" right before you posted "Gray Matter." I think yours is more impressive, though. Good stuff. It catches the attention, and just keeps on getting better. Now THAT's how you make a song.

PERVOK responds:

Thanks, i think ill check out your song when im not so tired and i can turn up my speakers without pissing anyone off.

Thanks again!

I don't particularly like oboes...

...but you used it so well, I'll just have to make an exception. Beautiful work. Wonderful use of dissonance when the dense piano comes in near the end. And it even loops! Great stuff. all my 5 are indeed to this belonging.

MaestroSorrow responds:

I actually was debating with myself, if I should put this oboe one, or another one with the french horn. The french horn one sounds devestated, sounds like an aftermath kind of song, whilst the oboe gives the image of a weeping fragile life.

I went with the oboe for the image it gave me ^^.

Thanks for your words and the review.

'tis good

The drums are fantastic. However, there's just something about that synth-bass line that seems... not good. Maybe if you used the notes more sparsely, it would sound better to these ears. I dunno. Still a very solid track.

DavidOrr responds:

hmm yea, I threw that together very quickly- maybe I will go back and redo it :)

Oh Yoshimi, they don't believe me, but you won't let those robots eat me...
